We anticipate that some of you (if not all) might have a couple questions about the town made famous by Thomas Jefferson and then bad famous by Dave Matthews. Well you are in luck, because we’ve plagiarized Wikipedia on your behalf! Have a quick read and before you know it you’ll be all like, “What up C’Ville! You look great for a town incorporated in 1792!”
Why Charlottesville?
When Tim and Brittany first met, Tim told her under a starry sky, how desperately he wanted to one day get married in Charlottesville. Brittany told Tim that if they should ever join their lives, she would make good on his dream. The rest is magical history. Just kidding. We simply love Charlottesville... the vibe, the history, the mountains, the wineries, the breweries.
Cool. So what’s the deal with Charlottesville?
Charlottesville was formed along a trade route called Three Notched Road (present day U.S. Route 250), which led from Richmond to the Great Valley. It was named for Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz, queen consort of the United Kingdom as the wife of King George III.
Charlottesville is perhaps best known as the home to two U.S. Presidents, Thomas Jefferson and James Monroe. It is also home of the University of Virginia, Monticello (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), the National Radio Astronomy Observatory headquarters, and the Leander McCormick Observatory. Charlottesville is smart.
Today Charlottesville has a thriving community, beautiful hiking trails along the Blue Ridge Mountains, and a plethora of great vineyards.
Nice, what can I do with my free time?
Charlottesville offers a ton to do, especially outdoors. Hike, golf, visit heritage sites, raise your pinky at a vineyard, fly-fish, ride in a balloon, belly up to a brewery. Just remember, don't drink and balloon.

Ok, sounds awesome, how do I get there?
You can fly, you can drive, but you cannot boat. The Charlottesville-Albemarle Airport serves the city, but is on the small side. We recommend flying to either Richmond International Airport or Washington Dulles Airport, 70 miles (110 km) and 115 miles (185km) away, respectively. From there, you will need to rent a car and drive to Charlottesville (which is lovely.
We'll provide shuttle services for day of events, so no excuse for not letting loose on the dance floor.
What will the weather be like?
Nice! We hope. Charlottesville has a four-season humid subtropical climate and typically around mid-June you can expect an average high of 84 ºF (29 ºC) and a low of 63ºF (17 ºC).
Will I be forced to listen to Dave Matthews non-stop?
Only if you're bad.
